About this café

Grown at an altitude of between 1,350 and 1,800 meters in the Huila region, this exceptional batch is the result of the work of 85 passionate producers. Nestled in the Colombian mountains, where the country's largest rivers originate, the farms benefit from volcanic soil of rare fertility and a climate ideal for the slow ripening of the cherries.

Each cherry is hand-picked at peak ripeness, then pulped. The beans are then fermented in vats for 12 to 36 hours before being washed with clean water. Drying takes place slowly under "marquesinas" (protected beds) or on patios, where the coffee is stirred regularly to ensure perfect uniformity. This rigorous process and organic certification ensure superior cup quality (Excelso EP Grade).

Meet the producer

The El Bombo cooperative, founded by John Edison Díaz, aims to transform the lives of coffee-growing families in Pitalito. Through the IMPACT program, it places women's empowerment at the top of its priorities. By valuing their decision-making and technical roles, the cooperative directly combats gender inequality and food insecurity.

El Bombo's commitment goes beyond coffee: quality premiums are reinvested in organic vegetable gardens and sugar cane processing infrastructure (panela), diversifying the income and diet of more than 300 people in the community. Choosing this coffee means supporting sustainable agriculture that protects the biodiversity of Huila while offering a dignified life to those who produce it.

After two orders

Good quality coffee at a reasonable price, especially with quantity and subscription. The pure origins are also perfect for homemade blends. The packaging is well designed. Very good.

Colombia Bio Coffee

Honestly, I found it rather acidic. But that's okay, because there are other excellent ones out there.
