About this café

Nestled in the mountains of southern Ethiopia, the Banko Gotiti carwash was opened in 2010. It lies at the heart of the Gedeb sub-region, in an exceptional terroir shaped by the surrounding relief of Qunashu, Dula Mezorya, Asgori Gara and Baya.

Each year, the plant supports some 400 local growers and uses clear water from the Qunashu River to process the cherries. After harvesting, the cherries are sorted, washed and fermented for 48 to 72 hours. Eight employees then carefully wash the cherries, before they are dried on raised beds for 7 to 10 days, depending on the weather. Grain humidity is monitored throughout the process.

This washed coffee, rated SCA 86+, has a vibrant profile with notes of jasmine, lime and black tea.
